Module Add/drop Period for Semester 1, 2022/23
To: UG Students
cc: All staff
- The Module Add/Drop period for Semester 1, 2022/23 will take place on 5-19 September 2022 during which students can add or drop modules through the Module Add/drop System. You may find the System user guide here.
- Students can login to the Module Add/drop system during 5-19 September 2022 from 10:00 to 15:00 (Closure during weekend and public holiday) to submit module add/drop application.
- You will be notified of the result around 17:00-18:00 daily by email. If your add/drop application cannot be fulfilled on the first day, your application will be kept in the system for further matching and processing on the subsequent days. You must cancel your add/drop application if you NO LONGER want it to be processed.
- The module add/drop period adopts a “9+1 schedule”. All pending add/drop applications will be kept in the system for further matching and processing until the 9th working day of module add/drop period (i.e: 16 September 2022 for Semester 1, 2022/23) only. All unsuccessful applications will be cancelled thereafter. If students want to make final adjustment on their timetable, they may submit new module add/drop application on the 10th working day of module add/drop period (i.e: 19 September 2022 for Semester 1, 2022/23) for system final matching.
- The order of add/drop priority is as follows: Submission Date > Seniority (Year of Study) > Submission Time
- The list of modules of Semester 1, 2022/23 is available on the Module Planner where you can check the availability of modules. The Module Planner will be updated daily at around 18:00 during the Module Add/drop period.
- Students shall be solely responsible for their own timetables and are recommended to consult their Programme Offices if in doubt before submitting the add or drop applications. Please be reminded of the possible consequences, i.e. deferment of study/graduation, of inappropriate adding or dropping modules.
- No adding or dropping of module will be allowed after the Module Add/Drop period. In this connection, students should be very careful when submitting the add/drop applications and daily checking on result status on the Module Add/Drop System by the students are important.
- Please observe the following arrangements of GE modules:a.Once a GE module is listed as a major core/major elective of an individual programme, the students of that specific programme are restricted from taking that module to fulfil the GE requirement.
b. GE modules, including those offered by the School of Business, should only serve the purpose of fulfilling GE requirements, instead of fulfilling other requirements such as business elective.
- You are strongly advised to first consult your Programme Office should you have any questions regarding your timetable and study plan to avoid unnecessary referrals. For enquiry with Registry, please state your questions clearly (and preferably with supporting documents) in emails. Meanwhile, you may find your answer in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on Module Registration and Module Add/Drop of the Registry website.
Thank you for your attention.
